George R.R. Martin is a renowned epic fantasy writer (and my favorite) that deserves the title as the “American Tolkien“. His “A Song of Ice and Fire” series is a favorite of mine (by far) that should see it’s fifth installment this September — most anticipated book in my entire life. In the meantime, while waiting, I’m reading a collection of short-stories, written by Martin, called “Dreamsongs: Volume 1” taking much of his work earlier in his writing career.
The short stories — some only a few pages, some 20 pages, some brief novels — deal with Science Fiction, Horror and Fantasy. It’s a must read for anyone that likes to read fantasy, but I’d recommend it to anyone that enjoys reading.
On the reader’s queue:
Forever Peace — Remembering Tomorrow (Joe Haldeman)

Tales of the Dying Earth (Jack Vance)
When Worlds Collide — Bison Frontiers of Imagination (Philip Wylie, Edwin Balmer)
Hedge Knight: Volume 1 (George R.R. Martin)
Hedge Knight II: Sworn Sword (George R.R. Martin)
