Some of my unpublished stories I’ve written include a religious-like out-of-body experience in them; no, it’s not God, or Jesus, or whomever communicating with my protagonist. Usually my approach isn’t one with finding any higher being, or moral authority; they are experiences within the mind that gains faith within one’s self; not from any god, or mythical higher power.

Sometimes they devolve from “once I believed, now I don’t” revelation. For example, in my latest short story called the White Room (working title), throughout the entire story, a man lives in dream-like state — either on his death bed, in a coma, simply a dream, or perhaps described as real (I’m not giving that away). As a young boy, this character was indoctrinated with faith, believed that killing was wrong no matter the excuse, importantly fearful of god’s judgments hesitating his hunts. As he aged, he started disbelieving, tossing his faith away. Mother felt betrayed and father wanted nothing more of him. It was his faith (or lack thereof). The story moves on from there with immoral decisions, knowing in his mind that god does not exist, and one can not be judged if not court exists.

To say I lack positive regards to religion would be an understatement. I don’t just lack it, I despise it. No more than you should tell me what and how to believe, I won’t advise the same for you (but you are here, so I’m continuing anyway).

The other day I heard “God Has a Plan”. His plan includes:

I would list more, but Google searches became a bit too tedious.

Some will instantly claim that it’s the work of the devil — another fictional character that excuses our brutal instinct, devised and developed through thousands of years. Great.

In many cases that the human mind was too primitive in the name of science that the only explanation for rain, lightening and thunder was a higher being. For a time, man didn’t understand the inner workings of anything. For a shorter time, understanding of basic sciences grew so much that we’re now testing our theory of how the universe was created with particle accelerators. On the other hand, I have always wondered how it “began”. Stuff just can’t appear from nothing, or in a singularity. There has to be an ingitition switch. Then again, who’s to say that our minds are at all advanced when we’re still thinking on linear levels, beyond the scope of our understanding. We know more today than we did two thousand years ago. Most likely, we’re learn a lot more two thousand years from now and we’ll be viewed as the primitives.

In any case, with all the indignation of the world’s victims accounted to human greed, brutality, twisted beliefs (to name a few), wouldn’t it be more accurate to say that if God exists, that he either:

  1. Failed
  2. Or is completely Twisted himself.

Even so, good and evil do exist; mostly mixed within personal tribulations. A subjective look at right and wrong, perhaps supports the idea that belief in God isn’t anymore bad, considering the weight of a moral compass to draw upon (fantasism and murder in the name of totally included). There, that’s a good boatload of bull shit that should have a majority of you steaming. Right?

Sam Harris: There is no god (and you know it)

Dennis Prager: If There Is No God

So my advice to all the world that’s bent out of shape, with scowles on their faces like they’ve been holding a shit for seven days, is this.

The Truth About Pot.
